drivers seat adjustment

have a 93 sl-1. the drivers seat seems to be tilted back somewhat..It makes the driver feel the need to lean their head and shoulders forward while driving...verry anoying. I imagine i could place some spacers under the rear support posts of the drivers seat, but my wife thinks that could be a saftey issue in a crash....Are there any adjustmets at the seat- back joint itself. The seat just feels awfully low, and tilted back to me.

Re: drivers seat adjustment

check your owners manual.

i am more familar with the 94s but i think the seats are idential, so bear with me.

in front and underneth the seat there is a metal lever, turning it will allow you to move the seat forward and back.

on the side of the seat closest to the door, there is a plastic lever which should have a little black sticker with a picture of the seat, pulling this lever will allow to change the angle of the seat back.

some models also had a large knob just in front of the lever for the seat back, turning the knob would allow you to change the hieght of the seat.

another option was lumbar support on the driver seat, it controls support of the lower back. it is controlled by a plastic lever on the right side of the seat back

Re: drivers seat adjustment

Yes. I am familiar with the standard adjustments with the drivers seat. And I've tried them. Drivers position did not seem a priority when designing the cockpit. I think the driver sits too low. The padding on the seat has most likely compressed over the years. Remember, It's a 1993.

I'm used to the six-way adjustment on my other car
