I doubt the body has any resemblence to a 180sx body, so I guess it's just an interesting link.

No, that is a completely tubed out 180SX... Supposed to have around 1101 (or 1011?) HP out of the 2.6L 6-cyl... First time I ever saw it was in Gran Turismo 2. It's very hard to find pic of this car on the net.
There's also a companion HKS R33 Skyline Drag Car, too, decorated the same way... Same engine and specs, I think...

both of those cars regularly turn over 7's in the quarter. very very fast cars. i personally hate drag racing (ooo let's watch a car go straight for 7 seconds), and think that a 180SX or R33 would be better used on a drift course, but i still have respect for those.
