2000 Taurus Need Code for keyless entry
My wife just bought a 2000 Taurus. I thought it had a key phob with it but i guess not. It does however have a key code display on the drivers door. Where can I find access to the code? My wife was also only given one key. Can she go to a Ford dealer and obtain another key? We probably have to order it right? Thanks for the input in advance.

Re: 2000 Taurus Need Code for keyless entry
Look in the trunk, sedan, on the package shelf, towards the back..
Should be the module sitting up there, it has the code on a sticker.. also i believe on the pcm unit, there is a sticker.. i think the wagon has most of the elctronics on the left rear quarter panel under the trim panel... worst comes to worst the dealer can pull it out of the pcm fo a charge, try other ways first, no charge.. do you have an original key??? Most likely it came with remote entry key fobs, there is a guy on here I think that sells replacement fobs,, maybe dealer could tell you if car was equipped with remotes.. |

Re: 2000 Taurus Need Code for keyless entry
Try using the search feature from the Taurus Forum main page ("Search this Forum."). The location of the keypad code has been addressed quite a few times, and on your 2000 should be located inside the cabin of your car. I'll let you try out the search feature to find the exact location.
As for the keys, assuming you have the PATS system or SecuriLock system, and since you only have one key, you'll need to get the dealer (or a well-equipped locksmith) to program a new key. I'd suggest that you get at least two keys made so that if you lose another one, you'll be able to program a spare without visiting the dealer. -Rod |
