AC and electrical questions
I recharged my AC, i know it has a leak but i want to see how long it will last, i plan on having it fixed when i get the funds, but i noticed my other 88 caprice used to do this as well. the ac will be blowing nice and cold, but under hard acceleration it will blow slightly warm for a few seconds then back to cold, whats up with that? (note my other 88 caprice did NOT have a leak, but still did this) im thinking a vaccum issue maybe? and for the electrical question, what would have to be wired up in order to have the power locks lock automaticly when the car is put into drive, or reaches above a certian speed, and unlock when the engine is shut off like the newer cars have? jus wondering, in case i ever become rich enough to do that...

Re: AC and electrical questions
not sure if its related, but 9c1's have a WOT ac cutoff
basically, the ac will cut off at WOT to provide max power for pursuit. |

Re: AC and electrical questions
yeah i know mine wouldnt have that since its a civi model, im also thinking it something with the compressor, which i was told needs replacing as well, but the compressor on my 88 was still good though

Re: AC and electrical questions
His car isn't a 9C1, although you are absolutely correct. Mostly why I don't run the AC on my car unless someone else is riding with me - gas is expensive and I've put up with 110+ degree summers for 35 of my 38 years so I can squeak by.
When I do want it cool though, that WOT cutoff can be a pain in the posterior. Then again, I drive my car hard, as it was designed for.

Re: AC and electrical questions
Not that I am aware of. If yours is getting warm at WOT, it's possible there's a vacuum leak in the AC control hoses somewhere. It could also be the orb under the hood - that is hooked up, right?
I'll bet it's still blowing cold air, but instead of through the regular vents, it's coming from the defrost vents.

Re: AC and electrical questions
its comming through the regular vents, and all the functions work when i change from the front vents to floor and to defrost
