2001 cavalier 2.2

Hello, I went on a trip that was like a 2 hour drive and on the way home my car developed a late throttle response. basicly what i mean is when i go to use the gas i have to push to the half way point to get a response. If im sitting in neutral at a red light and you rev up the rpms once they go down to normal the engine almost dies out and shuts off. this is a 5 speed manual so it is very hard to drive when it is like this...

When my car does this, and you shut it off and leave it sit for like 10 minutes it is fine. I still took it somewhere to have it looked at and they said that it was fine they checked the sensors and fuel pump and what not. they said i should bring it back when it is doing it.

Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution for it? i really wouldnt worry about it but i do alot of traveling and when it does this it becomes very unreliable for me..

Re: 2001 cavalier 2.2

well its got 73,000 miles on it....i was out with it today and it was running fine then once i got off the highway it started doing its thing i had to push the gas halfway down to get the rpms to change from idle in order to start moving cuz of having a clutch...once i got home i shut the car off and left it off for 25 seconds and turned it back on it was gone it runs fine...

coil packs

they get hot, your engine runs like shit, you shut your engine off for 10 mins, they cool down, you're fine again, until they warm back up
