connecting CD player in civic '96

hello all...i've a honda civic LX 1996 that is in just good enough shape for me to keep but not add much to it. i've this CD-to-cassette converter that i use to play CDs in the car and use the car's power outlet to run it but the problem is when i shut down the car the power is cut to the CD player and it resets so the next time i turn on the CD player it has gone to beginning---back to the start of Track 1.

is there a way to connect this CD-to-cassette system to the car "internal" battery so that i don't get this problem...like the time is always correct even if i turn off the car and if i had a built in/dash-board CD player it won't have this problem either but since i am using the power outlet i guess power to it is cut once i shut down the car.

is it possible? how difficult it's to do it on your own? any suggestions?? thanx

I don't know if that is possible or not. For the time and energy you would put into that, you could install an new unit. I would think you could find an inexpensive deck (in-dash cd player) somewhere that would solve your problem. Check out ebay or Wal-Mart or any place that might sell auto electronics. Installing these units yourself isn't too big of a job. I installed mine myself and may still have the wiring instructions somewhere if you need them.
