What year is your car?
Generally though if the engine runs fine in all conditions (starting, cruising, WOT conditions) then I wouldn't worry too much about the noise or no noise until the car starts running bad or quits altogether. A really noisy pump may be cause for concern though in the future, but all electric fuel pumps do make some noise.
If you feel you need to replace it, I can help you out if its a 93-97 model, 98 and up I am not clear about those.
