Power Seat Malfunction

I have a 2002 Dale Earnhart edition Monte (the big banana) The drive seat will not move forward or back. It will move every other way, but has an issue with forward and back. On to the question. Does anyone know of a good website that has information or, better yet, diagrams of the wiring system for the seat? Thanks.

Re: Power Seat Malfunction

Sounds like what happened to mine, but mine was the height adjustment of the front of the seat. All 3 ajustments still function in the same way, so you might try what I did. I removed the 2 star bolts thru the rear seat brackets in the floor behind the seat, lifted the rear of the seat, disconnected a couple of electrical plugs, and got the thing out on the bench where I could work on it. I found that the motor was running, but the gear was broken in the little right angle gearbox that drives the screw. The only replacement parts I could find was a whole new electric seat base... no way... (over $500). So I manually set the front height midway with the adjusting screws, and removed the flex cable to that drive so the seat height is not adjustable. For now until I can find a wrecking yard replacement gear, I have a 4-way seat instead of a 6 way seat. Not the best repair, but it will do until a part becomes available. All three of these drives appear to be the same, so if the gearbox is the problem, just swap it with the front height gearbox.... its really not something you have to have. With the back and forward adjustment and the rear height adjustment, you can get real comfortable. If the problem is a motor, you are in luck, those are pretty cheap. If anyone knows where I can find the gearbox or parts, please reply.
