Spyker Formula One F8-VII 2007 - Kitbashing question

I want to make Spyker Formula One F8-VII 2007 in 1/20 scale. In Thailand, Resin kit is hard to reach for me and I didn't hear about this car from any model manufacturer so I think of about kitbashing some Tamiya 1/20. Which Tamiya 1/20 kit that I should use it as base model?

Thanks for comment and your advice.

Re: Spyker Formula One F8-VII 2007 - Kitbashing question

There's nothing that will be even superficially close to the Spyker- especially in Tamiya's 1/20 range. If you want to do a current F1 car, best bet is to start with the most recent kit(s) availible- maybe Revell's 1/24 MP4-20 or BMW F1.06. But you'll make yourself crazy trying to make an accurate Spyker starting from one of these, unless you have access to alot of unpublished secret reference material.

If you want a decent model of this year's Spyker done anytime in the next year, I think the resin is definately the best way to go. If you would really enjoy a conversion project I don't mean to discourage you- but it sounds like one that would be difficult to ever finish.

Interesting topic. I have been thinking about a f2007 conversion from an existing kit also. The Spyker looks like you would have your work cut out for you for a long time. Not to doubt anyone could do it, but like MPWR said, a resin might be your best bet. BTW, that is one bad ass F1!
