Cool estimating future power on my N/A

im wanting to bore out my N/A block as much as possible, maybe port/polish my heads or vr4 heads, racing cams/gears, ferrea racing valves...i really dont want to swap to the 6g74 or make it forced induction at the moment,,,,,if i do these upgrades what kindof power would i have?

Re: estimating future power on my N/A

hey im just wondering, why do you plan on spending all that money to stay n/a, is it because of the maintenance of forced induction? because with that kinda money you're lookin at, you can accomplish a whole lot more going forced induction

im not sure on numbers but with all those mods you will definitely gain a good amount of power, but the way i see it is your eventually gonna just hit a dead end where you cant do much else to your n/a, whereas with turbos it seems neverending

Re: estimating future power on my N/A

intake, full exhaust, underdrive pulley, 75 shot Nitrous, used SAFC controller and you will have easily over 110 hp under your belt, and you will only have to spend under 2 grand, but you wont need to spend all that money on performance cams and gears, racing valves, port and polish, vr4 heads, because you looking at least if not more than 6 grand just for that with labor, screw that spend the money on what i said and you'll have more money to save for that VR4 Spyder and with these mods still be able to take on stock vr4's no sweat at all from a roll ...

Re: estimating future power on my N/A

keeping the N/A is going to be expensive on any car. i'm planning on doing a twin turbo conversion myself. i think the outcome of a forced induction on a fwd, compared to the n/a is more worth the cost.

To get peak power out of the n/a you have to considder a full through route.
new intake, ported n polished heads, head work, bored cylinders, higher compression pistons, new connecting rods, a balanced crank, new clutch/flywheel, i would remove the cats, only because i live where theres no emissions test, to a tanabe or borla exhaust, only for a maxed out 150 hp.

Also, the higher compression pistons will be a bitch trying to run on pump gas.

BTW i would not get that spyder. the vr-4 is heavy enough already.
