Re: 1996 Dodge Van Ram 2500 Electrical Problem
Do you mean the engine won't fire up or that the starter/engine does not turn?

Re: 1996 Dodge Van Ram 2500 Electrical Problem
The solenoid on the starter could be internally cracked which will cause it to expand and bind when hot. As it cools it becomes free and can move. When the solenoid moves it closes a set of contacts powering up the starter. At the very least you probably need to replace the solenoid. But to avoid problems shortly down the road, I suggest you replace the whole starter/solenoid assembly.

Re: 1996 Dodge Van Ram 2500 Electrical Problem
Do you still have the problem with the new starter, or no?
Was there a new solenoid on the starter or are you using the old one? |
