Trans Am Carbs......

I have a freshly rebuilt 400 in a 79 trans am. Is there a Holley that will fit on there and mate up with the shaker? Will a universal Holley fit on a edelbrock performer intake w/out any mods? I'm pretty much running all of the accessories including a/c. I liked the Street Avenger, but i don't know about the whole universal fit. I'm going to call Holley and talk to the techs, but i just wanted some general knowledge from the forum. Also, any recomendations on an affordable street distributor?

Thanks!

Re: Trans Am Carbs......

Standard HEI distributors work good if you know what your doing. Yes a universal holley should be able to self adapt to either square bore or spread bore carbs without modifications or an adapter plate. Might have to pick between several gaskets to find the right one.

I dont know about the shaker adaptation tho. I CAN tell you that going from a q-jet to a carter AFB comp doesnt change how high the air cleaner sits in relation to the hood so>
