Speedometer Not correct-- how can I fix??
Hello
I have a 90 Jeep XJ that I recently replaced the instrument cluster in. don't ask how, but the needle was accidentally knocked off. is there any way for me to place the needle back on so that It shows the correct speed? If any of you have poiners in how to place the needle back on so that it is correct it is appreciated. It is the cluster that has the tach, and guages, not idiot lights. Thanks Dan |

Um... really? Hell, I'd just put it back on to 0 MPH, glue it, done. Go for a drive.

I used my GPS and noted the indicated speed vs the GPS speed. Then moved the needle the difference. Had to do it twice before I got it right.

Wow that is a great idea! I never thought of tracking myself on a GPS!
Thanks for the reply! |

Re: Speedometer Not correct-- how can I fix??
To add another note, I checked at different speeds, including local streets and freeways. The difference was pretty consistent over a 50mph spread.
