sluggish at take-off

My 95 Jeep GC Laredo has just started to be very sluggish at take-off. It's like I'm trying to take off in a wrong gear. Jeep has approx. 226,000 miles on it. This only seems to happen when taking off from a complete stop, doesn't happen when you just slow down then accelerate. Thoughts?

Re: sluggish at take-off

when u stop... put it down into first and see if you still have the same problem. if so, your're more than likely starting in 2nd or 3rd gear... or you could have engine problems. i've had the same issue with my 95 GCL. but only happens when its cold outside.

Re: sluggish at take-off

Mine does the same thing, and I couldn't ever figure it out...I recently replaced my CAT and that seemed to help a little but it still shows symptoms of it, especally in the morning..

I think it's a common problem for the 4.0's
