I have been having problems with my cooling fans on my 96. The GM dealer told me today that the only way to clear the error code is to put it on a scanner. I don't have a scanner and my car is currently not licensed or insured so I can't take it to a garage. Is there a way to clear the codes without a scanner? Thanks. MT

somtimes... unhooking the battary for a few minutes will clear codes

Unhooking the battery does clear the codes...the GM Service people told me that it wouldn't.....
