buying parts
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced shop (san diego area) or website to buy parts for my 79 super beetle? Also, any honest, good VW mechanics in the San diego area?

Try Gary up at JBugs in Oceanside for your parts. He has quality stuff at a reasonable price. He could probably lead you to a good mechanic, too.

They're on Harbor, about 2 miles east of the 5.
