fuel filter

where can i find the fuel filter on a 2000 mercury mountaineer 5.3 lt.?

Welcome to the forum!

Never seen a Mountaineer with the 5.3L, I'll assume you have the 5.0L V-8.

The fuel filter will be mounted on the inside of the driver's side (in US) frame rail, just behind the front tire. You will need the fuel line spring-lock release tool, safety glasses, nitrile gloves, and some patience, along with the correct new fuel filter.
