Ferrari will drop ads this weekend

As a mark of respect to the victims of this week’s US terrorist attacks, the Italian team has chosen to drop advertising logos that relate to its commercial or technical partners. The logos of American based tobacco company Marlboro have already been removed, and a statement from Ferrari reads as follows:
‘Ferrari has taken the decision to show that it shares a sense of grief with the American people, with whom it has always felt close ties. Therefore, this weekend, for the Italian Grand Prix, with the full agreement of its sponsors and suppliers, as a mark of respect, its cars will carry no logos relating to its commercial and technical partners. For Ferrari and for its partners, Sunday’s race will be a purely sporting event with no commercial implications, nor will it be a joyful event.’

Kudos to Ferrari for their gesture.

Is the nose always black at the tip, or is that in memorial, too?

I watched it for just a minute this morning, just long enough to explain the no-adverts thing to my wife. I didn't see any results. I did see that all the other teams still had all their ads, though. Ferrari's totally making them look bad, at least to me.

BTW, the pit crew in their all-red uniforms with no ads look really weird. I didn't realize it from the pic above, but on TV in action you can tell somethign's missing.

Again, good job Ferrari!

I really don't like the black nose. Will like to see it all red, except the tires of course.

Some of the others teams are wearing black bands on their uniforms.

Also both Jordan cars have big American flags on their airboxes...

And not only are there no sponsor logos on Ferrari cars, but also on the drivers' overalls.

It's so good to see that this has "united" a lot of the world plus the sporting codes aswell.
All the rugby/soccer etc in this country showed a minutes silence before games and around the world also have done the same.

It's just a shame that it takes such a tradegy for this to happen

Twas a nice touch. I'm glad to see that money isnt the most important thing in the world to F1 teams. And Rubens came second, but everyone expressed grief on the podium (no champagne).
