'00 Civic Possible Swap.

My friend has a 2000 Civic which has a bad engine. I was gonna see if he could give me the car for free and I was gonna do a swap. This is what I am thinking.

2000 CIVIC
B18C5 Type-R Engine
B18C5 Type-R Tranny (S80?)
Probably skip the ECU and go with a AEM EMS.

Question: Will I need new axles? half shafts? intermediate shafts? How abou this...besides the above three. What will I absolutely need to make this work? Will I have to rewire the V-TEC? and anyone knows of a GOOD guide to this swap please help me! thank you.

Re: '00 Civic Possible Swap.

how do you figure I will spend 6G's+?

I've read up on it...several places stated nothing that was necessary. But the ones that were helpful stated that the civic and integra were basically the same just different bodies. They said all I needed was the engine, tranny, and ecu. And I can get all that for $2,000-$2,500.

Re: '00 Civic Possible Swap.

Doubt you can get a GSR swap for that price, not to mention a Type R setup. If so, tell me where so I can get one too. For a Type R, you're probably looking at a minimum 4k.

Re: '00 Civic Possible Swap.

My friend can get me just about any jdm for cheap. But...I changed my mind on the engine. It is now a B18C1 because they are better to boost. And I can get that even cheaper.
