Cool Performance Upgrades for the Dodge Van 318 5.2L engine

Performance Upgrades for the Dodge Van 318 5.2L engine

I have a question for those of you that have worked on the 5.2L 318 Magnum in the conversion Vans. To what extent would you go to do a performance upgrade on the 318 Magnum and what would you avoid (money is not a option but I like to be easy on the pocket).

Re: Performance Upgrades for the Dodge Van 318 5.2L engine

I have an 89 dodge. I have put in an order for headers. The exhaust manifolds on my engine has the O2 coming off the first cylinder. I will modify the headers to fit the 02 sensor just like the stock. A muffler shop may be able to make sure everything is done right. All you have to is modify it where the O2 sensor screws in and seals fine. I also am adding cherry bomb mufflers. Honestly, I removed the catalyst because I didn't need because the sensor is before the catalyst. You may not want to do that though.
