97 AC Problems!! Need Some Help!!
Alright so... I get this 97 Cavalier for free cuz it doesn't start, it was simply the alternator and battery (sat for 1 year)... replace those and it runs fine... i turn ont the AC and it blows warm air, the heater works fine... I charged up the AC lines, but it still blows hot air. Any Ideas Anyone???

Re: 97 AC Problems!! Need Some Help!!
Welcome Aboard!
Is the AC compressor clutch engaging? If not, verify whether the clutch is getting power. If the clutch has no power, determine why (low pressure cutout switch, compressor relay, high pressure cutout switch, fuse, panel switch, etcetera). If the compressor clutch is engaging, make sure low side pressure is below 50 PSIG at about 90ºF or below, and high side pressure is 240 PSIG or below at similar temperatures. A clogging orifice tube screen or condenser can cause higher than normal high side pressures and inadequate low side pressure and refrigerant flow. Report back with both pressures and we can provide more detail.
