Timing Q
Hi, I am new and tried to search, but cant seem to find the answer. I just need to know what my timing should be on my 89 Caprice classic 305 TBI. The tag is worn and not readable. I have been told 10 BTC. It is currently at 2 BTC and stumbles and down shifts poorly, and is going through gas like no tomorrow. All tuned up and ready to go.

Re: Timing Q
Should be 0* BTDC.

Re: Timing Q
8-10 degrees before TDC makes sense.
Edit - CD, you sure about that? It would seem to me that these distributors need a little static timing advance. Edit II - you're right. Looked in my manual and it is exactly TDC for the TBI cars. Learned something new.

Re: Timing Q
I normally run my 9C1 at about 4-6*BTDC static. But the sticker says 0*.
