88 731i Head Gasket
Hello, newbie here.
I just bought an 88 735i, a really nice car. I got it at a really good price due to the fact that it possibly needs a head gasket replacement, or it may even be a cracked head needs to be replaced. Here is what I know: It overheats after driving for a while, and when I checked the oil, it appeared to be a light brown color. A friend of mine told me that the oil and coolant are mixing, "probably cracked/warped head or head gasket. My question is: Does anyone know a link where I could find instructions on replacing the head gasket? Or, does anyone have info themselves... I checked to see how much it would cost... $1000+. I'd rather do it myself if possible, b/c i can't come up with that kind of dough all at one time. PM me if you can help, any help at all would be greatly appreciated! |

Re: 88 731i Head Gasket
Read this thread, for one symptom and some more info.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=712041 Check out the links in my signature, you should be able to find some a 'how to' on head gasket replacement; probably Don Gales page or Johan and Seans page...
