Thumbs down can a bad OIL PUMP cause a ranger to overheat 4.0

i have low oil pump pressure. my ranger overheats

i have brand new parts
brand new water pump
brand new radiator and new hoses
new 160 thermostat

no but a bad headgasket will. you need to run a radiator/cooling system pressure test and a compression test to see if the head gasket is blown and water thinned out oil will lower the oil pressure

How did you find out if you had low oil pump pressure. Most oil pressure gauges are activated by switch and does not read actual pressure. Did your gauge read in the lower red line? I installed an actual oil pressure gauge in my Ranger so I know exactly how much oil pressure in PSI my oil pump is producing. On the other hand your rod and cam bearings maybe wearing out and cause low oil pressure. How many miles have you got in your Truck?
