timing belt...

i've got a 03 tacoma... 3.4l v6. bought it used at around 55k.

i'm currently at 64k, i've had no trouble with rough idling or engine noises or anything to lead me to think my timing belt needs to be replaced. i had firestone auto do an inspection on my truck and they're told me i needed to replace the timing belt.

is there any reason for me to believe that my timing belt might actually need to be replaced or am i being scammed?

Re: timing belt...

My timing belt replacement guide only goes up to 01. But for the later 3.4 V-6's, 90,000, is the recommended replacement interval. However there are times when it is better safe than sorry. Your call.
