This is what you can get in NH for $200....

All it needed was a waterpump... Doesnt leak any fluids, shifts smooth, drives straight... Except for the SQUEAKING, its perfect, lol...

What do you think? 89 SEi Automatic, ice cold a/c...

Do you plan on restoring the inside?. Outside looks in good condition.

Re: This is what you can get in NH for $200....

Eventually, its hard trying to find SEi's for sale up here, let alone a place where I can get decent seats, I hadnt even heard of the SEi until I bought that one, its got 225k miles and it runs beautiful, brought it down 2 days after I bought it and got an inspection, only had to do the waterpump and the pads in the front and back... I was surprised. The outside isnt in bad shape... The paint is actually in very good shape. The guy I bought it from tried fiberglassing the quarter panel on the back drivers side, and it fell off when I touched it lol, come to find out there was about a 4 inch hole in the panel from rust, so I touched it up with some bondo, the passengers side was mainly surface rust on the wheel well, and theres a spot on the drivers door where the guy tried fiberglassing as well, but I havent tackled that spot yet... It actually has the original floor mat on the passengers side in the front, it is the tan one and says SEi on it... But yeah, once I can find some seats in decent shape, im going to swap them out... Ive had 2 88 lxi's, and I actually like the way the sei performs alot better, and I always had a problem with the lxis brakes, the car would shake real bad when you hit them getting off the highway, even with new pads and rotors, but with the 4 wheel disc brakes on the sei its real smooth.

Make sure there's enough left of it underneath before you go hog wild...seen a few of them from up north that you couldn't even lift in a shop, rack would punch right through the body...

If it's solid, it was a good buy!

Re: This is what you can get in NH for $200....

That's good...I had one Accord brought to me from NY once (I'm in Missouri) for a state inspection...I set the rack, raised it up to contact the car, and started going up...the rack went up about 8 inches before I could stop it...the car never moved once the suspension unloaded ..damn lift dogs went right through it..ditto one CRX from Michigan, had a Toyota pickup try to split in two (literally) between the bed and cab...etc...

Nothing rusts quite like an older Japanese car from snow country...seen a few where the lower spring land had rusted away and the spring punched through it, rubbing the tire....all kinds of stuff...
