Boredom and a Go Cart

Hey this is my first attempt at ever making a video. Yea they suck but we were bored. I did it with some poo poo $15 camera I found at the house. Anyways we got some cool footage. The videos consist of me recording, my buddy DJ Hoss manning the water hose, and my homie Chris driving the go cart. We took turns doing some drifting action but only Chris made it to video...bastard. I deleted some of the good stuff to make room for my drifting apearance, but by the time he got done having fun it was too dark to film...oh well, next time. The vids are short, no more than 30 seconds a piece. So check em out and tell me what you think. And expect more and alot better vids from me.

Oh yea about the go cart.:

-I think its 3 1/2 horses. 5 horse swap is very possible in the future....we got a bad ass 5 horse that we arent doing anything with.
-Hand throttle
-Custom Redneck engineering pump pipe exhaust
-Shaved head

Re: Boredom and a Go Cart

Interesting... I still think I'd take my ol' 12hp off-road kart with a rollcage over that one though. lol

I need to get those things running again and make some awesome videos of us racing on our track through the woods... Good times there... Hehe...

Re: Boredom and a Go Cart

Im surprised you left your car that close. I use to have a go cart like that, except mine was 2 seater and a 5hp. On those motors there is a little piece that governs them back alot. Only problem is that the gas wont pull it all the way so we had to tie a string to it, but when you would pull the string it was like nitrous on it.

There is a way you can remove the restriction using a spring and re-routing the throttle cable... We did the same thing on ours and it was ridiculous how much gain we got from it... We've actually had two centrifugal clutches explode on us cause we can take our rpms so high now. lol

Re: Boredom and a Go Cart

On the go cart in the vid we had a hand throttle. We took all that governor crap off. For drifting you have much better control of the throttle with the hand throttle cable we rigged up on that one.

On my 5 horse go cart I bypassed the governor. I used a brake cable off a bike and attached it to the pedal. Worked awesome it opened the throttle all the way up. And I bought a spring from the hardware store and have that for the throttle return. Shaving the head on those motors make a huge increase also. I was turning such high rpms on mine that the valves started to float so I shimmed them up....I also installed bigger valves. The guy I bought my civic from raced go carts and had parts everywhere in his garage. He gave me a box with all the factory stuff in it that came off the honda ....he didnt know it but there was some valves in there....so I took them. hehe. So what did y'all think about the poopy videos?

Re: Boredom and a Go Cart

I would have never parked soo close, thats just looking for trouble but I thought that they were pretty sweet. My favorite one was the last one because of the donut and the guy driving it like put his hand down on the wet pavement and just kind of followed the donut like that pretty coo.

Yea that last one was cool.....no hands. Big ups to Chris Campbell for his mad skillz. That is a driving fool though if you know him. He drives the green Camaro (Mean Green) in the background.
