A small problem causing big headaches!
for the car info
1996 Dodge Stratus 2.0 single cam manual trans Stuff i replaced coil pack plugs wires fuel filter Problem Ok while driving around with the ac on if i come to a red light the car will stall out. The rpms will drop and not catch back up. If i drive around with the ac off it will not even stall out! What weird is the car will not idle up when the ac is on. it idles at 700, i even tried to turn the idle screw up and it still idles at 700. It also uses a lil oil. But it doesnt blow any smoke of any kind and its not in the anti freeze. So any clues poping out at ya that might be a fix to this? Thank you for reading and for the advice you give. i have done some research and im just looking for a lil more pin point before i go changing egr valve cat or crank or cam sensors. Thanks.

Re: A small problem causing big headaches!
Look for a leak in a vacuum hose. If you can, connect a vacuum gauge to the intake manifold and look for about 17" of vacuum and stedy. If not look for a vacuum leak.
