2005 Dodge Durango engine accelerates after starting engine

My 2005 dodge durango will accellerate unexpectedly after I start truck and put in drive. My foot is not on the acceleartor and this may happen at any time not just in the winter. I took my truck to the dealer and they said that they can not duplicate the problem. They asked me when it happens and suggested that I note the conditions under when it happens.

It usually happens when I pull out of the garage in the morning. It may happen on the driveway or at the first stop sign I stop at a block from my house. I have to put the car in neutral and or put on the brake to keep the truck from moving on its own.

Re: 2005 Dodge Durango engine accelerates after starting engine

sounds like the throttle position sensor

could possibly be the throttle body being stuck open

could be the computer controlled choke

I went to the dealer with the information that was sent to me on the forum. They said that after checking everything out that they could not duplicate the problem.

The problem only happens ocassionally.
