Code 23 Confusion!!

Someone on another forum with a 99 GC with the 3.3 ltr is getting a code 23 with the key dance. Look it up on several sources and it says it's an air inlet temperature sensor. Those same sources also say only the 2.4 ltr 4 cylinder engine has said sensor. So...what does a code 23 mean if you have a 3.3 ltr 6 cylinder engine?

This came up about a year ago on the forum and was never resolved. Might take a retired L1/Master ASE certified technician with a great website to answer this one.

Re: Code 23 Confusion!!

I'm betting that if you have the codes read with an OBDII reader, you'll get a different code. There is no air temp sensor on this engine. I'm also betting that there's a software update for the PCM to correct this problem.
