help!! with lumina

I have a 1991 lumina i just replaced the water pump.. and now the only times my fans come on is when i run the air..there is also a strong smell of antifreeze..comes thro the vents but when you turn the air off you don't smell it..whats going on help please!!!!

How well did you bleed the system after you replaced the water pump? Trapped air can fool the temp sensor (the one for the ecm, not the dash) and keep your fan from coming on.

i don't know if the guy that put the new water pump on did were do you bleed it from isn't it a screw near the radiator..if not were is it located and how do i do it

there are two brass valves that you can turn with a wrench on the system, on is located somewhat above the left side of the engine, the other is to the right, i suggest you wear safty glasses while you bleed them
