95 Tahoe shuts down while driving

My 95 Tahoe with 160,000 miles has been acting up lately. At first it would start fine and then the engine would just shut down when I put it in gear. It would then start fine and run good. It was due for a tune up so I just had that completed (new plugs, dist., wires, etc.). Now it sometimes stalls when initially started like before, but also it now stalls and restarts when you are driving down the freeway. When it dies driving on the freeway everything shuts down for 1-2 seconds and then everything resumes again. By everything I mean radio, A/C blower, engine, etc. In looking at similar forum entries my problem appears to be either Ignition Switch, Ignition Module, Battery or Battery cables. My battery is fairly new and the battery terminals are tight and are not corroded. I also see some issues like this that seem to be fuel related (fuel pump or fuel filter), but I would think that since I am losing electrical power to radio/blower when it shuts down that my problem would not be related to fuel. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Lose connection bad wire or bad switch or ground.
Start with battery terminals and wires and grounds.
Check all power feeds and fuses.

Question Re: 95 Tahoe shuts down while driving

I have checked the battery and cables and they appear to be fine. I never have any issues starting the truck, it just wants to shutdown and restart on its own while driving. Also about the same time this started happening I am experience issues with the front wipers. The wipers have a mind of their own and don't want to stop once turned on. Also the washer fluid only works sometimes on the front window (back window it always works). Does the front wiper controls also run through the ignition switch or is this a separate unit in the steering column? And could these problems be related or are they just two completely separate issues that started about the same time?

Thanks again for any feedback.

Re: 95 Tahoe shuts down while driving

Fix the engine running problems first and then th wipe next.

Get a good volt OHM meter and check for 12 volt power lose.
Hook it up at diffrent spots and see if voltage drops anywhere when it quits.

You are losing voltage someplace on it and also check all grounds.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

A bad ground will do things like that to.ground
