Need help with back Window (96 Blazer)

Dear Blazer Owners,
For some reason my rear window release on my 96 blazer is not working. I have tried the manual override but still cannot get the lock to realease so that i can open the window. Any suggestions, i'm lost at this point? Thanks.

Fuse and power supply to it?
If all else fails you may need a good service manual to help you thew it.

i have the exact same blazer and i had the exact same problem, check if when you open the door, does the dome light go on? also does the top cigerette lighter work? if both of these do not work then it is absolutely a fuse problem. fuses are located on the left face of the dash they almost rest against the driver door when it is closed. if not, it is something mroe serious and should be looked into with further detail.

Re: Need help with back Window (96 Blazer)

solved this exact problem couple of weeks ago. if you have tried manual release and nothing happens take a flashlight and look inside the opening there is a metal latch that has disconnected, and more than likely fell forward so you cant identify at first glance. you will need two screw drivers, one to rotate latch counter-clockwise up and the other to secure its position. just keep messing around with it and eventually you will understand how it works. Good luck

just bought a 94 blazer and I found that if you push the release button and hold it for a couple of seconds the window will release.

Re: Need help with back Window (96 Blazer)

easy to fix trust me i did it go on the inside of the car remove the cover and inside you should see the machine that opens the latch stick your finger in and thare is a piece of metal move ip sideways or up it will unlock it the problem that you have is the machine has a piece of plastic that presses against the lock to open it the plastic broke you have to either replace the whole thing or just the plastic but its easier to replace the whole thing...
