94 Continental instrument cluster

Had some problems with instrument cluster:
Check DCL coming on, going off, on, off, etc., oil pressure digital reading dropping and alarming.
Had it checked out, replaced oil sensors, same problems.
Was told to replace entire instrument cluster.
Found one online, had it installed.
Still getting Check DCL, gas reading now not accurate, had 8 gallons, ran it 100 miles, then it read 12 gallons. Fuel reading says CO.

Do you think I got a bad cluster or is it possible there is another problem.

Other than these problems the car looks and runs great.

Re: 94 Continental instrument cluster

Sounds to me like the connections at the cluster are sketchy at best.

There's some folks with experience on these clusters, their suggestions are all the same, "use a rubber eraser, clean the ribbon connections"

I don't have direct experience with this one, so I'm repeating what I've heard.

Re: 94 Continental instrument cluster

After trying 2 clusters from salvage yards (and neither worked) I found this site which was able to deliver a working unit, guaranteed for one year.

Installed cluster, worked great.

Cost was $245 for refurbed unit versus $130 for a salvaged unit.
