fog lamp wiring
i got a 2006 equinox and i'm adding non factory fog lamps (rb787), is there a way to wire them so they act like factory, with the high beam shut off, i tried wiring to the pink (high beam over ride)wire on the headlight switch which worked fine except that the power isn't controled by the ignition, so i'd need to be aware of the switch being off when exiting the vehicle,
anyone have any ideas on how i can wire this....thanks in advance george |

Re: fog lamp wiring
Use a relay. Wire one side of the coil (86) to the headlamp switch as you have already, and the other side (85) to a good ground.
Wire the normally open contact (87) to the battery, and the common (30) to the fog lights. http://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp Jason |
