exhaust questions???

hey.. i just put my long tube headers on my 98 gt..i have a cali spec gt so ive elliminated quite a bit of restriction..i have NO cats on my intire exhaust right now..i have the long tube headers..then a cat back borla with the two lil borla tips on it..and i through a flowmaster 2 chamber muffler in the mid pipe for some restriction and inspection reasons..but my question is..i get a lil bit of a kick back when i rev up the engine..i was wondering how i could eliminate that kick back crappy sound..you think a resonator would do the job.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-25-...QQcmdZViewItem

any feedback would be appreciated..i would love to eliminate that ugly kick back..i dont want people thinkin i got fart cans on my gt..when ive done it true headers back!

well after doing much research myself..do to lack of replys from anyone..lol..i found out that buying a resonator should do the job..also ill probly get a better muffler..found out that the headers mainly was the cause of the raspyness..took alot of restriction out without puttin any back in?? is that about right???

Elimination of restriction will not cause raspyness. The elimination of a resonator will though.

well being that it is a cali spec car..it has much more restriction then the fed specs do..i eliminated 2 cats alone on doing the headers..then the main cat..a resonator..and 2 mufflers..then i added 1 muffler afterwards..so alot of stuff was takin out for sure..so yes 1 resonator was removed...i am gonna buy the hushpower 2 by flowmaster i think..looks good..says it supposed to quite exhaust with too much straight through flow..which is exactly my problem..so should be good..thanks

I also have a cali spec . My precats are gutted and I dont have raspyness.

ic..are you running headers and borla? if so and you have no raspy..whats the secret man??? how are you running your exhaust?

I have the 3sx downpipe, gutted precats, custom "test pipe" and stock TT catback. Theres no secret. You just need a resonator. The DOHC really needs one because it will sound really bad if it doesnt have it.

well i ended up getting the hushpower 2 resonator for my raspyness problem..worked reallll good!! completly elliminated the raspyness all together and also gave my car a real tuned sound..thanks for the resonator advice guys..
