United States Air Force

I was wondering if a Canadian can join the U.S.A.F.??? Cause there's no way in hell i'd join our shitty military
and ever since i was a little kid i always loved planes, especially after watchin Top Gun and the games are so fun, heheh

I'm pretty sure a couple people here have been in the Air Force, so could you guys tell me if a person from Canada can join, how old you have to be.... just some basic info

how long does it take to learn how to fly a plane? I was hoping to be able to bomb afganhistan, so how long would it take to be trained?

Yes a Canadian can join the Air Force. If you liked top gun, then you want the Navy, not the Air Force The Navy fighters are truely looked on as the Best of the Best.

As for flying, well, the earliest you would be able to fly, would be 2006 Sorry

I was actually in the Marine Corp. But I would assume they would be the same.

When I went through Boot Camp, there was a guy, whom I believe was Spanish. He barely knew any english at all. When he was out of boot camp, he had learned quite a bit of English. He was not a citizen, and I am not sure what was required for him to join. I will call my buddy, who is a recruiter, and ask him, as I am now curious myself.

Well, first you need a 4 year degree. Then, if they do accept you, plan on 3 months of OTS (Officer Training School) to become an Officer. Then, plan on probably another 6 months to actually start getting air time.

Yep, but it's not totally the same as in the Movie. I can help you out a bit too, Assuming you actually want to join the USAF and not just bomb Afganistan cause you'll be out as soon as you walk in if that's your plan. What I was planning to do was sort of what you did cause there's no denying the fact that Canada's Armed Force Suck Huge Ass. I was in Air Cadets for about three years, and ya it sounds dorky but, you get you pilot's liscense for free and you get paid to take fun camps, I was on my way to egtting my liscense this year (Which is probably a Huge Assest when you want to join the forces.) but I quit a few years ago, because there is way to much lack of Disipline and lack of respect for people above you, I just got pissed off and left. It was mostly good times there though.

I'm not exactly sure what it takes to become a naval aviator, but hypothetically speaking, if you were to head a strike mission like that, your best chance would be with the USAF. Navy fighters are generally used for short range defense, while the Air Force encompasses all sorts of attacks, including long range bombing, and of course, nuclear warfare. The USAF also uses stealth fighters like the F-117 and high altitude shitstormers like the B-52 for strategic reconnaissance and attacks which are the most efficient modern methods of tactical bombing.

From what I've heard from my cousin who is a Captain in the USAF, the best path for flight begins in the USAFA, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Starting as a cadet, 4 years brings you to flight training where the fun begins. I don't know the details (ask a recuiter) what happens after that, but generally, it's harder to obtain flight status without going to the academy.

Of course, no single pilot can even attempt to try a bombing mission on his or her own without government backing, but there's always wishful thinking right?
