Gas Filter Woes

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to replace my fuel filter on my 3.3L 2002 GV. The Haynes manual said that it should be on top of the gas tank, but I found it behind the rear driver side wheel well. Also, the fuel filter has FOUR hoses coming from it and one ground strap. The hoses go to the: Top of the gas tank neck, The gas tank and two other spots that I have not traced it to yet.

I went to the dealer and they sold me a filter for $77. However, this filter only has THREE hoses and one ground strap.

Have any of you guys had a similar experience? If you have, how do you take off a FOUR hose filter and replace it with a THREE hose filter??

BTW, the dealer is refusing to take back the part, even tough the sealed plastic case is un-opened. We'll see what I can do about it.

Thanks,
Stan

Re: Gas Filter Woes

On my '96 the filter was above and to rear of gas tank and two of the lines (I believe) went to the fuel pump.
