Idea for lighter cars...

I'm not sure if this has been brought up or not or even thought of..

Instead of filling your tires up with Oxygen why dont you just fill it up with Helium? Lighter then air.. Less weight I'm guessing.. Even if it is a little bit.. it is Some...

Idea copyright of me

Hydrogen in the tires would be fun - especially if you had a blowout. And how about a carbon fiber engine block - that'd cut the lbs down for sure.

if you didnt know helium is combustable. so once you drove your car on the road and the road heat up your tires,, they will explod. but if you dont mind buying tires everyday then go for it. hydrogen is also combustable so the same goes for the hydrogen.

oh and if you dont believe me about these gases being combustable, look at these facts, the sun is made up of 91.2% hydrogen, and 8.7% helium. thats 99% of the sun is made up of hydrogen and helium. yeah astronomy class finally payed off, lol

i am surprised no one said this first off.

i'm pretty shure that it wouldent just blow the tires up, the car would proabably get toasted as well.:flamer:

actually now that I think about it I guess it would depend on the size of the tire how much helium was in it and how fast you were going but they would still blow up.

yeah a tire filled with helium at 40psi would make for a big explosion. i think the car would get toasted alittle bit but nothing permanent. but anything plastic around the tire would melt.
