Lumina computer problems???

The problem:
I have scanned the ECM and it tells me code 22 (Low TPS Voltage) so I replaced the TPS and I checked all the electrical wires and everything is good the book tells me that the grey (input) wire going into the TPS should be 5 volts and that the blue wire (output) should vary between 1 and 5 volts the grey wire coming in only has 0.75 volts so I am way short

How it may have happend :
my brother was checking the pressure switch for the A/C and hooked up 12 volts to it ( to see if the compressor would kick on ) and the car died and wouldnt start so thats when I replaced the TPS and checked wiring and now it starts and runs fine for about 3 or 4 seconds and dies if I give it just a lil bit of gas it will run but runs sloppy and misfires ...is it possible the computer got shorted out? ....any Ideas please???

Thanks..!!
Roger

Re: Lumina computer problems???

Welcome to AF. This did not happen till the " brother" incident? You need 5v reference to all the sensors, disconnect the wires to the tps, key on check the gy wire again.

Re: Lumina computer problems???

Problem there for sure, no reference voltage is a pcm issue, wiring diagrams at autozone.com may help you here. to find the source, but you may have cooked the pcm. Little late for this, but please post year and engine in the future, we may be able to better pin point issues for you. Check this link for the pcm diagram. http://autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/090...rInfoPages.htm
