gas gage off

When my car is on empty it shows quarter tank and the low fuel light does not come on. Found this out the hard way when I bought the car. Any ideas?

Re: gas gage off

There might be an issue with the sending unit. It may not be sending the proper info,or there might be an issue with the electrical connections. This can be a common problem as vehicles get older.
