Re: alero heater blower 1999
Usually the blower motor resistor is the problem. Go get P/N 15-8966 at Autozone or wherever. The blower motor is located behind the plastic cover under the glove box. You'll see a gray or black plug under the motor. Remove it, and use a 7mm socket to remove the screws holding the resistor in. Swap in your new one, and put everything back. Hope it works for you!
Credit to erimar77 at n-body.net for the procedure, I haven't done this yet myself. |

Re: alero heater blower 1999
I had the same issues with my a/c blower only working on the highest setting. I also had noticed that I had water leaking issues when it rained under the passenger side seat.
Turned out the front windshield near the cowl was not sealed properly and it was leaking down into the blower motor housing and it blew out my Blower motor resistor. I would check out that first, it’s located under the dash on the passenger side. I found a replacement part at an auto junk yard for $10 and I also resealed the front windshield by myself with some adhesive from the auto store for $8. Hope that this helps.... |
