95 Taurus - No power to fuel pump

1995 Taurus - 3.0

I don't have 12 volts at terminal 12 on the CCRM. With a digital voltmeter, I'm getting 2.3 volts. Therefore, the fuel pump will not operate.

If I hot wire it with battery voltage, it runs fine.

Does anyone know where terminal 12 receives 12 volts from?

It looks like terminal 12 receives its power from the battery, just like terminals 3 and 8. Do you have battery voltage at terminals 3 and 8 as well? Are you making the voltage measurements on terminal 12 with the CCRM connected or out of circuit? If with the CCRM connected, try disconnecting it and making the measurment again. What are you using for your ground reference when making the measurements?

I'm checking with the CCRM connected.

I have removed the plug and reconnected many times. I'm looking for bad connections, bad grounds (I've cleaned every one I can find).

If I disconnect ground to CCRM it sometimes turns the cooling fans on or it buzzes like hell.

Key On - 12 & 18 have 1.7 - 2.3 volts.

Going through a ton of posts here, most which you were part of, grounds seem to be a major issue. I've also looked at the schematics you posted and saw power is received from the battery.

I have not checked 3 & 8.

For the most part, I'm using the battery as my ground reference. Pin 18 (ground) was pretty close to battery voltage.


On Edit: Pin 3 has battery voltage. Pin 8 is the same as 12 & 24 - 1.7. The wire to pin 8 is yellow just like 12. I thought maybe ignition switch. Corrosion or something but, all looked fine when I removed plug from switch.

The ignition switch should not be in the circuit for pin 12. Try making the same measurements and the connector with the CCRM disconnected.

Pin 12 receives its power from the fusible links connected at the Power Distribution block at the firewall on the left side near the master cylinder.

With the connector removed from the CCRM, voltage was 1.7.

Traced the wires from the fusible link to the CCRM and found major corrosion in 2 wires. Resembled a Snake after it swallowed a football. Repaired with solder and cured the problem.
