Don't know what to do next, NEED HELP!!!

Ok so i have a 95 Z28 6 speed. I did the little 3 piece cold air intake, long tube headers and catback. Now the car could definatley use more. Not sure weather i should put gears in the rear of the car or go for a cam and head package? Or maybe is there something else i should do? Also added info the car has 162000 miles but runs absolutly mint. Thanks

Re: Don't know what to do next, NEED HELP!!!

IF you go for the cam/heads, spend a bit extra and replace the opti spark and water pump (if they haven't been done reciently). After the heads/cam you will really need to do the rear gears to take full advantage of them (3.42, 3.73 or 4.10 if you don't care about gas mileage)
If you have an auto trans. think about a higher stall converter after the heads/cam (you'll need it).

Thanks for the advice. I have replaced the opti spark and the water pump so they are set. What are some of the best head and cam packages out there?

Well, since you have the LT1 and are wanting to do heads and all...Look into the LT4 "upgrade" package that Summit sells. It comes with heads that fit the LT4 intake, an LT4 intake, cam, springs, etc. All of the parts are supposed to be even better than the original LT4's also.
Other than that, see if TrickFlow makes a "kit" for the LT1 (not sure but I think they do) and I believe Holley makes one.

Not really. What does it is the owner. He puts in a new cam/heads and just HAS to put his foot in it at every opertunity and then the engine blows. Same thing would happed with the stock cam under those conditions.

Everylt1 owner I know says the same thing.... lt4 kit is a ripoff, take the money and sent it to lloyd elliot or such

+1, you're better off having your heads and intake ported and just getting the LT4 hotcam kit...

Re: Don't know what to do next, NEED HELP!!!

my head s are getting done by sum old guy up north..as for that hot cam i dont even think ill go with them either..im undecided...but look around. i will tell u as a old manual camaro owner, get u a short throw and a short stick...it makes driving more fun hitting those gears real quick....just something cheap and quick u can do...i dont know about anyone else, but my heads will take a month or 2 to be completed...if u want a good ass job taking your time is best. but no doubt, cam and heads will be the largest gain of power u will get outside of a blower, turbo or spray!..hell u can always be like me and do that 396 stroker!!!! thats always kickass!!

Re: Don't know what to do next, NEED HELP!!!

um, not sure, I dont have tailpipes either. The previous owner(s) did some pretty stupid things to it. Exhaust is set up as follows:
stock headers -> bypass pipes welded in where the cats used to be -> y-pipe -> glasspack about a foot in front of the rear axle ->very short pipe curving towards the ground, and it just ends there. There's no inspection stickers here, so I suppose I wont get a ticket unless a cop decides to take a look under the car.
