Unhappy Transmission Problems? Please help

Hi, Everyone.

I have a 2000 Honda Passport. A year ago it broke down on the side of the freeway, apparently it was the transmission so I had it rebuilt. 2 days ago the check engine and check trans light came on when I was on the freeway. I could hear a high pitch noise when I was in the lower gears and there was jerking during the shifting. I haven't taken it in to a shop to check out what's wrong but I am assuming it's the transmission again. Do I have to have the transmission replaced completely? Also I noticed that when my I have 1/4 tank of gas the low fuel light goes on and off on and off... then it causes the check engine light to come on. Please help me. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Transmission Problems? Please help

i would say the trans mite be something to do with low fluid pressure. it could have started your problems. it can also be inside the valve body. a trans shop can check the pressures and valves for you. if the pump was rebuilt before it may have been the problem. ive always just bought a new pump when i rebuild a trans. just to keep from having problems later. hope this helped

Re: Transmission Problems? Please help

gas light could be a worn out sending unit in the tank it may only happen in certain places if that makes sence. its on a float and when it go up and down with the fluid the bad spot would not send a signal. causing the problem

? Please help

Sounds like time for a complete rebuild. As far as the oil, you are using the right type in both. The foward clutches are worn out maybe. Do you see any fluid on the ground? If so, you really need to take it to your mechanic. It could be something minor to major... Please let us know the outcome and good luck.

PS ... and I should suggest you can prefer selected honda parts to rebuilt your tranny. Goodluck buddy...
