Cooling System Help Please!!
Ok First Off, I Know This Is The Wrong Forum For This, And I Know How You Guys Feel About Double Posting, But No One Is Answering, Just Lurking In The Forum Where It Is Supposed To Be.
I Have A 99 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0 Inline 6. That Is Overheating. It Will Get Up To Normal Op Temp, Then Go A Little Higher (about 220) Then A Little More, Untile It Over Heats. If I'm Lucky To Make It To An End Point On My Trip (home), Then When I Turn Off The Engine, The Rad Kicks All The Fluid Into The Reservoir, With A Lot Of Gurgling, But No Bubbles. My Fluid Is Perfect Pea Soup Green, And I've Checked Both The Tranny And Oil For Green Goop, Both Fine. I Replaced The Tstat, Thinking It Might Be Stuck Closed, But It Didn't Help. I'm Gonna Flush The Rad This Weekend, But Can Anyone Else Think F Anything Else? Oh Yeah, No Visible Leaks Either. |

Re: Cooling System Help Please!!
If all else fails run a chemical block head gasket test on it for a bad head gasket.

Re: Cooling System Help Please!!
Possability that the water pump impeller went south? I've heard of this a few years back and I think it was a Chrysler product. Also check for hoses that have collapsed on the inside where you can't see it...Mike

Re: Cooling System Help Please!!
with the vehicle cold take the cap off crank the car and watch to circulation of the water if it start to circulate when the tstat opens then quits momenttarily the tstat is working and the waterpump is fine but if it doesn't start mko0ving then the water pump is bad since you have replaced the tstat alrerady
also if the water starts to pump out right after cranking then you have a head gasket problem when does it over heat does it overheat at idle or just going down the road or just idle these all determine if the fan clutch is working |
