2007 Camry Keyless Entry and Horn problem
I have a 2007 Camry that has keyless entry. When I got the car, it would beep the horn when I would lock or unlock the car. About a month ago it stopped doing that. The keyless entry still works so I don't think the issue is with the remote. I even used the extra keyless remote to test that it wasn't just my current key and that keyless remote did not honk the horn.
I was going to take it to Toyota but when I got there it was a 1 hour wait. The reason I want to have the horn beep when I lock or unlock because I park in a large garage at my apartment complex and sometimes I forget where I parked and the beeping horn is my way of finding the car. Also the beeping lets me know that I did in fact lock the door. Anyone have any suggestions? I already looked through the manual and didn't find anything that would help. Please help! Thank you!!! |

Re: 2007 Camry Keyless Entry and Horn problem
The car is under warranty. I wouldn't mess with the electronics as this could be a particularly difficult problem to track down. Make an appointment to take it to your dealer, so your wait time should be minimal. They will probably just replace the brain for the system. I'm sure they will have to order it, so you will probably have to bring the car back a second time. Sorry I don't have any better suggestions.

Re: 2007 Camry Keyless Entry and Horn problem
There might have problems with door, hood, trunk sensors.
Check the sensors. Put the dome light to door mode, and ret one by one which one is not working. My friend had same problem with Hyundai, and I found that there was problem with hood sensor, if alarm detects that door is not closed well, horn would not go on when locking. I hope this helps. |
