window wont move

I have a 1993 grand cherokee. this morning my father went out to get something and when he opened the passenger side door the panel just fell off. Now the window buttons dont work and we cannot get the passenger side window to go up. Even when we tried the driver side controls for that window, it did not work(however every other window does work from the driver side). Is there anytrhing that can be done to independently get the window to go up(like how on convertible tops there is an independent mechanism in case the eletrical parts of the top break)? As well, can anyone give an idea of whatr the problem may be(especially since the window wont go up when pressed on the drivers side which i find just plain weird)
Thanks in advance

Re: window wont move

make sure the wire harness is connected to the switch (passengers door), the passengers switch completes the circuit for the drivers switch, if it's not connected then it won't work.

Re: window wont move

We did it have that connected(The harness to the switch)-first thing we tried and for some reason(and the fact that connecting the harness to the switch means that at least the drivers side should work, right?) Only other thing i can think of is loose wiring-is there anyway to check to see if current is going through each wire?

Re: window wont move

First check the wiring in the door jam, these wires are known for cracking and breaking.
