pistons

New member here.

I have new forged pistons for a 428CJ build I am doing. Should I have the whole assembly rebalanced?

I believe piston weight changed on 428CJs during their production from 68-70.

This will be just a street/restoration engine.

Thanks

Re: pistons

Have them balanced to the original piston's weight.

Re: pistons

Have the entire rotating mass balanced. Cheap insurance and makes for a real nice engine. Your main bearings will thank you...

Around here (Richmond, VA), balancing runs between $150 and $200 unless you add "heavy metal". Prices vary from one location to another.
