Water Pump

I am tryiing to replace my water pump. I cannot get the four bolts out because it keeps turning and I can't get a grip. Is there a trick to keeping this still so I can get the bolts off?

Re: Water Pump

Just replaced my water pump myself for the first time a few days ago. Had a same problem but solved it by using two wrenches. You put them on different bolts and push them in opposite directions, for the last bolt you screw one back in and undo them till you can get them both off. Took me about 10-15 mins.

Re: Water Pump

I bought an oil filter wrench that is made for filters on semi's. It fits on there perfectly. I seems to work better then a strap wrench for me in this case. No adjusting just slide on and turn away.
